Position Summary:
We are seeking a reliable and motivated Human Resources Assistant to support the daily functions of our HR department at a growing non-medical home care agency in Connecticut. The ideal candidate must be bilingual in English and Spanish, possess strong communication skills, and be passionate about supporting caregivers and administrative staff in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the recruitment, screening, and onboarding of caregivers and administrative staff.
- Conduct bilingual interviews and help guide Spanish-speaking applicants through the hiring process.
- Maintain and update employee files to ensure compliance with state regulations and agency policies.
- Support the completion and tracking of required documents, including I-9s, background checks, and certifications.
- Help manage caregiver credentialing, license renewals, and annual training requirements.
- Assist with HR data entry, scheduling orientation sessions, and maintaining accurate HR records in the system.
- Provide administrative support for employee relations, benefits inquiries, and HR correspondence.
- Translate and communicate HR-related policies, procedures, and updates to Spanish-speaking staff.
- Maintain confidentiality of employee records and sensitive information at all times.
- Assist with general office support and special HR projects as needed.
Required Qualifications:

Bilingual in English and Spanish (verbal and written) – Required
- High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree or HR coursework preferred
- 1–2 years of experience in Human Resources, healthcare, or administrative support
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Detail-oriented with excellent organizational abilities
- Comfortable working with HR software and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
- Strong understanding of cultural sensitivity and communication in a diverse workforce
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in home care, healthcare, or staffing agency environments
- Familiarity with state of Connecticut labor laws and home care industry regulations
- Knowledge of caregiver credentialing and background check processes
Compensation: $17.00 - $22.00 per hour
