Position Summary:

We are seeking a reliable and motivated Human Resources Assistant to support the daily functions of our HR department at a growing non-medical home care agency in Connecticut. The ideal candidate must be bilingual in English and Spanish, possess strong communication skills, and be passionate about supporting caregivers and administrative staff in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the recruitment, screening, and onboarding of caregivers and administrative staff.

  • Conduct bilingual interviews and help guide Spanish-speaking applicants through the hiring process.

  • Maintain and update employee files to ensure compliance with state regulations and agency policies.

  • Support the completion and tracking of required documents, including I-9s, background checks, and certifications.

  • Help manage caregiver credentialing, license renewals, and annual training requirements.

  • Assist with HR data entry, scheduling orientation sessions, and maintaining accurate HR records in the system.

  • Provide administrative support for employee relations, benefits inquiries, and HR correspondence.

  • Translate and communicate HR-related policies, procedures, and updates to Spanish-speaking staff.

  • Maintain confidentiality of employee records and sensitive information at all times.

  • Assist with general office support and special HR projects as needed.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bilingual in English and Spanish (verbal and written) – Required

  • High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree or HR coursework preferred

  • 1–2 years of experience in Human Resources, healthcare, or administrative support

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills

  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational abilities

  • Comfortable working with HR software and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)

  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion

  • Strong understanding of cultural sensitivity and communication in a diverse workforce

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in home care, healthcare, or staffing agency environments

  • Familiarity with state of Connecticut labor laws and home care industry regulations

  • Knowledge of caregiver credentialing and background check processes

Compensation: $17.00 - $22.00 per hour
